Growing Our Family
Hi! We are Chris and Matt and we are seeking an expectant mother who has chosen to place a child for adoption. We created this page to help you navigate the adoption process, get to know us, and make the most informed decision that you can when choosing a prospective family. On the site you will find information about us and provide resources available to you that can help in making one of the most important decisions you may face. If you or someone you know is interested in, or has questions about choosing a placement family, we are here to listen with compassion and understanding, with the goal of making you feel comfortable with us, and confident that you are making the best decision in choosing us as your prospective family.
What is adoption and is it right for me?
Adoption is a selfless act of love and compassion for an expectant family who is making one of the hardest decisions they may ever have to make. Placing a child for adoption is knowing that you are giving a child a loving and stable environment to grow, learn, and become their authentic self. There are many reasons that families choose to place a child for adoption. No matter the circumstances, we are hoping to grow our family by accepting a child. Any child who joins our family through adoption will be loved, supported, and welcomed from day one. They’ll always know they are wanted, valued, and cared for, and that we’ll do our best to give them every opportunity to succeed.
We have no judgement of your decision or circumstance for placing a child, and we will love them and provide for them no matter how they become part of our family.
I am new to this and don't know where to start.
Starting the adoption process is scary and intimidating, trust us as we were in the same place when we began this journey. The great thing is there are tons of resources out there. We have partnered with a law firm here in SC that provides information, resources and counseling every step of the way. We are more than open to discuss the process and research that we have done to prepare for this journey. By choosing us as a placement family, we will ensure that you are not alone in a time of confusion, the emotional roller coaster, and how the entire process works. Our partnered attorney can explain in depth, the different types of adoptions, how the process works, and how you can select us as your placement family. Simply reach out to us and we will happily give you their contact information, to help you make the decision that is right for you and your family. After doing months of research, speaking with other adoptive families and joining support groups, we are confident in our choice that our adoption partner has everyone's best interest in mind, and can reassure you as we take on this adventure together. We know it's stressful, but we have your back!
Meet Chris and Matt!
Here is a little about us! We met in 2018 and after our first date, knew that we were meant for each other. In 2020 Chris proposed to Matt while swimming in a pool of otters, Matt's favorite animal. In 2022 we got married and settled in small town in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina, living in the quiet historic part of down town. Below is a little more about each of us, and we welcome any questions that you may have about us, so if you are curious, just ask!

Meet Chris!
I am 40 years old and have spent my career in public service before entering the private sector. Becoming an EMT at age 18 and Police Officer at age 21, I have worked in investigative and safety roles, and continue to, as an Asset Protection and Safety Manager.
I love hiking and being outdoors, my usual routine is work, gym, then grocery store lol. I started photography as a hobby just taking nature pictures while on my hikes and adventures. In 2025 I started a small business on the side where I do photos of clients of all types. The best part of that job is connecting with the clients and showing off their best selves.

What I am looking forward to the most in having a family, is watching our child grow and learn and develop their own little personality. I am great with kids and I am always holding friends and family's babies and little ones when I can. I will talk your ear off, which is why this page is so long, but coming from an angle of compassion and caring, I will be an advocate for you as an expectant mother. I am an open book so never hesitate to ask me anything!

Meet Matt!
I am 34 years old and have spent most of my professional career working in veterinary medicine, with specific focus in emergency medicine. I have treated all kinds of animals from cats and dogs to deer and sloths. I currently work in animal hospital administration overseeing the operations of emergency clinics and day time practices.

I also hold a degree in applied mathematics and for a few years took a break from pets, and taught at a local private school. I taught age ranges from sixth grade to high school with a focus in advanced placement courses. Working with younger children I learned how to navigate their behavior and the social and emotional changes they were experiencing. Working with high school ages I learned how to deal with teenagers and how to handle their changes and struggles, so I have a wide variety of skills in dealing with students and ensuring academic success.
In my spare time you can often find me in my sewing room where I make some pretty cool stuff. From placemats to outfits I'm really good at coming up with creative ideas and projects, I also enjoy anything Harry Potter, Pokémon and a good nap. In 2025 I also became a Licensed Realtor with the plan to become a Broker In Charge. I am definitely going to be the parent that spoils our little one and says yes, even after Chris said no! I am most looking forward to weekend breakfasts, golf cart rides and guiding our little one to success.

Meet our Pups!
This is Dolly and Winston and they are looking forward to having a new brother or sister! Dolly is a Miniature Dachshund and she loves to cuddle and give kisses to everyone. She is a year and a half old and full of energy. Winston is a Dachshund mix, he was a rescue so we are not sure what the other mix is, haha! Winston is 12 years old and likes to take naps and play with Dolly.

Our Home and Family
We live in a small town, in the historic district. Its a very quiet part of town surrounded by big tress and Spanish moss. Across the street from our front door is a park. Just a few blocks down is a large park with playgrounds and tennis courts and a running track. We are in walking distance to down town, where there are shops and restaurants. We have a golf cart that we take everywhere so getting to the parks and down town is easy. Our home has large bedrooms and a big dining room perfect for family meals and doing coloring books or homework. The nursery is connected to our bedroom so our baby will be right beside us.
Our house is on 1/4 acre, with a very large fenced in yard perfect for playing outside.
Chris's Family
Chris's parents are Rich and Vickey. Rich is a retired Paramedic and Vickey is an ICU Nurse. They can't wait to have a little one running around the farm!
